RHS supports in-house theatre system at BHRUT

Responsive Healthcare Solutions is please to announce the continued support of an in-house Theatre Management System (Phoenix) for Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust.

The system was originally developed by RHS Technical Director Matt Cutting whilst working for the trust.  Phoenix is a web-based system and provides trust staff with a means of scheduling theatre sessions, booking patients into these sessions, generating theatre lists and recording the proceedings during the operation performed in these sessions.

It monitors the full cycle of a patient’s theatre episode from being entered onto the waiting list to leaving Recovery. Phoenix provides a variety of management information and analytical reports to enable the Trust to monitor these activities and potentially identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Launched in 2008 the system is used by the Trust’s two hospitals and deals with in excess of 30,000 patient referrals per annum. Since rollout the system has assisted in a theatre efficiency program which aims to save the trust £550k in year savings. The system has helped monitor areas to improve efficiency by providing management reports such as utilisation and cancelled ops reports.
